Pipe Organ 'Transplant' for St. Patrick, Lincoln

September 22, 2014

September 22, 2014

St. Patrick's Parish in Lincoln, Nebraska recently acquired an antique pipe organ from a closed parish in Iowa. The organ, a 1877 JG Pfeffer, will eventually grace the choir loft of St. Patrick's new church building, currently under construction. At nearly 140 years old, the organ is one of the oldest in the state of Nebraska. In August, the organ was removed, transported to Lincoln, and placed in storage. See the video below for a time-lapse of the removal process.
